A survey of residents’ views about their local library and sports centre aims to set the scene for the future of critical local leisure services. Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is inviting members of the public to take part in the community consultation. It wants to hear the views of local people on how libraries and leisure facilities can support health, wellbeing, learning and community life across the islands.

Council Leader Paul Steele said: “Libraries and leisure facilities play a vital role in our island communities. We want to ensure these services continue to meet local needs in the years ahead, and community voices are central to the process.”
The survey, which is available in English and Gaelic, asks participants for their views on opening times, facilities and access. It asks them to rate how valuable the services are to the community and seeks suggestions as to what else they should offer.
Find the survey online at Have Your Say on the Future of Libraries and Sport & Health Services in the Western Isles | Comhairle nan Eilean Siar or via the library or sports centres’ social media pages before November 10th.
