The countdown to the Isle of Harris Running Festival is underway with this year’s event set continue its focus on inclusivity.
A fun run and 5k challenge will take place on Saturday July 4th, along with the flagship Harris Half Marathon, one of Scotland’s most scenic road races.
More than fifty people have registered to take part since booking opened in November.
“If you book your place now, there’s plenty of time to train,” said Race Director Nigel Bruce. “It would be great to have more local participants.”
Organisers want the event to be open to as many people as possible, with the extra categories giving plenty of options, including for children.
As well as the shorter distance race, the half marathon itself is open to walkers.
Alongside the sporting element, the festival will showcase Harris hospitality, with Crossroads Harris due to run the café, and a ceilidh, with music by Tosh, at Tarbert Community Centre in the evening.
