The Easter Bunny and the Easter chick at Tarbert Community Centre

Hail, snow and high winds may have battered the island over the last week, but that wasn’t enough to stop the Easter bunny, who delivered treats to egg hunts at both the Bays Centre and Tarbert Community Centre.

Young visitors to the Bays Centre’s first Easter party enjoyed searching for hidden goodies around the grounds on Friday, while there were crafts and a tea party to enjoy inside. On Saturday, a chick, a rabbit and Minnie Mouse welcomed children in Tarbert, where they found eggs out-side the Community Centre and enjoyed bouncy castles and crafts indoors, at the annual Rionnagan Oga event. A café was hosted by the Sir E Scott School Mòd Parents Committee, who raised over £900 towards their trip to the Mòd in Glasgow in October.

Other Easter-themed events have included the Harris Voluntary Service playscheme (see cover), pebble-decorating workshops at Leverhulme Hub and an Easter-themed tea party at Harris House Care Home, where residents enjoyed hot cross buns and donned Easter bonnets.
