The Isle of Harris Brewery’s new taproom, restaurant and deli is set to open at the end of this week, on Good Friday, March 29th.
The venture will see the brewery’s team take over the former Anchor-age restaurant site at Leverburgh pier, with a food and drink offering that they hope appeal to all.
“Four years after originally opening the Brewery from their croft house, Nick and Anna Helfrich and Spud the brewery dog have teamed up with neighbours Euan and Morag to open the new and improved Isle of Harris Brewery incorporating a Taproom, Restaurant and Deli,” said a press release.
“The new larger space means they can share their love of local food and drink - from beers brewed in house to a full three course meal or shopping basket from the crofts, lochs, hills and seas of the Hebrides.“
From the new taproom customers will be able to see into the Brewing space and enjoy twelve core beers on tap as well as a variety of drinks from the Hebrides and beyond. The restaurant will showcase local ingredients, serving breakfast from 10am and a core menu from midday until 8.30pm.
“In recent years South Harris has lost two much loved bars and res-taurants so we are conscious that local people and visitors are hungry for a new place to enjoy Hebridean food, drink and hospitality,” said Anna. The Brewery will be ready to welcome customers for ‘Beer at the Pier’ from 6pm on Friday.
